StatTrail helps users find, view, favorite, and receive notifications about publicly available athlete, team, roster, and statistics information. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices available to users.

Information We Collect

• Account information: first name, last name, email address, password, and optional favorite school. Passwords are stored using a hashed format, not as plain text.
• Usage information: searches, viewed players, favorite players, notification preferences, session activity, browser/device details, IP address, and application logs.
• Public sports data: roster, school, team, schedule, game log, and statistics data made publicly available by colleges, leagues, athletic departments, and sports technology providers.
• Communications: messages or requests sent to StatTrail, including support, correction, account, or feedback requests.

How We Use Information

• Provide player, team, schedule, favorite, and notification features.
• Create and manage user accounts and authentication sessions.
• Send requested account, password reset, summary, and notification emails.
• Improve StatTrail's search quality, data accuracy, performance, and security.
• Debug errors, prevent misuse, and protect the service and our users.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.

Cookies and Sessions

StatTrail uses cookies or similar local browser storage to keep users signed in, remember preferences, protect accounts, and operate the service. Users may block cookies in their browser, but some account features may not work correctly.

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers that help us operate StatTrail, such as hosting, database, analytics, security, and email delivery providers. Public Athlete Information

StatTrail displays athletic roster and statistics information from public sources. If an athlete, school, or authorized representative believes public data shown by StatTrail is inaccurate or should be reviewed, they may contact us and we will evaluate the request.

Data Retention

We keep account information while an account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain logs, backup records, and public sports data for security, auditing, analytics, data integrity, and legal purposes.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, and users should keep passwords confidential and notify us of suspected account misuse.

Children

StatTrail is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. If we learn that we collected such information, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Your Choices

Users can update profile information, change notification preferences, remove favorites, unsubscribe from emails where available, and request account deletion or data review by contacting us.
